New Maruti Suzuki Dzire launched with premium look in budget price

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Maruti Suzuki Dzire has long been a familiar name in India, one synonymous with practicality, fuel economy and pocket-friendly ownership in a country where owning a car is still an aspiration for many.

Now, it’s baaack for 2025 in a new version, hoping to breathe new life into its presence with consumers in a market continuing to migrate toward SUVs and hybrid vehicles.

But it’s clear who the Dzire still speaks to. And this time it’s more stylish, more feature-packed and even smarter under the hood.

With a slight change in style, more features onboard and a hybrid powertrain option, the new Dzire still aims at urban families, first time car buyers and fleet operators alike.

But is it enough to survive in today’s crowded market? Let’s take a closer look.

Design: Elegant Evolution

The 2025 Dzire is a conservative evolution of its predecessor, but that’s enough to keep things fresh.

The new front grille has broadened and slimmed down, with the full LED headlamps and C-shaped DRLs giving the car a more sophisticated, premium look.

The bumpers are new for a smoother, more aerodynamically challenged look, and 16-inch alloy wheels contribute a bit more muscle to the shape.

At the back are new LED tail lamps and a neater boot design. It is a sub-4-metre sedan still, but it carries those proportions way better, with more poise and flair now.

Inside: Subtle, Smart and Roomy

“Get inside and the new Dzire carries forward Maruti’s tradition of evolving interior finishes and layout,” prejudiced one person.

The dashboard features a two-tone treatment, with brushed silver and soft-touch accents adding a quality feel.

Steering wheel and various other controls are inspired from the aforementioned Fronx and Baleno to give a proper sense of familiarity and modern ergonomics.

Other highlights inside include:

9-inch Andriod-based touchscreen infotainment system

WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO AND APPLE CARPLAY

Push-button start

Cruise control

Rear AC vents

Revised semi-digital instrument cluster with bit of color MID

Wireless phone charger

Interior space continues to be one of the Dzire’s strong points. The backseat is spacious for a sub-compact and there’s even a reasonable sized boot for your daily shopping or weekend luggage -378 litres worth of it.

Performance: A New Heart, Familiar Soul

On the mechanical front, the new Dzire will be available with two engine options:

1.2L Z-Series Petrol – NA engine, refined, and economical Quirks/Awesome quirks 1.

1.2L Petrol + Strong Hybrid – Maruti’s new top-gun for 2025.

The strong hybrid system also allows you electric-only crawling in traffic, a silent start-stop using only battery power and fabulous fuel efficiency figures that are reported to be upwards of 35 km/l in real-world conditions.

The engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a new e-CVT gearbox (on hybrid trims) that makes for smooth and unstressed driving with city use in mind.

The non-hybrid petrol is still punchy and smooth, has good highway etiquette, and great economy – we secured fuel efficiency of around 22-23 km/l at one point. The ride is plush and compliant, ideal for Indian roads.

Safety: Enhanced and Reassuring

Maruti has gone some way in improving the Dzire’s on-paper safety credentials, by offering the:

Six airbags (in top variants)

ESC is the abbreviation used to refer to Electronic Stability Control

Hill-hold assist

Rear parking camera

ISOFIX child seat mounts

ABS with EBD

Crash-test ratings are still pending, but the new platform is said to comply with current Bharat NCAP norms.

Pros:

Hybrid version has industry’s highest fuel economy

Design It’s a noticeably better design with some premium touches

Cars require you to meander when you’re in the city.

Roomy interior with useful features

(2) Maruti’s extensive service stations at its behest

Cons:

No diesel engine option

Base models are somewhat stripped down

Lacking some driving excitement of turbo-petrol rivals

The hybrid version sacrifices a little boot space due to the battery location

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Verdict: Smarter, Sharper, and Still Not Sensible

It’s not exactly revolutionary, but the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Dzire tweaks the wheel to near perfection.

Add to that the modern-looking packaging and trusted practicality, and you have enough reasons for the Dzire to continue its reign in the entry-level sedan category as the practical man’s fair amount of sophitication.

It might not have the machismo of a compact SUV or the grunt of a turbo-petrol, but for those who can appreciate mileage, comfort, and low cost of ownership, it’s hard to ignore the new Dzire.

In short, it’s not flashy — but it does the job better than nearly any other.
